30 round box marked:

1305-AM-001-0049
30
PATRON 5.56mmx45, BALL

I was told it was match ammo but have no idea what wieght it might be. Anyone have any details?

Some guys in my team picked it up from an ODA but had no info.

Just a wild guess. Hirtenberger.

"Patron" is the Germanic word for "cartridge". Hirtenberger is an Austrian company. AM was the headstamp used by that firm while under Nazi occupation, per the cartridge collectors forum. That same site lists "HP" as the headstamp they now use, but maybe they continue to use AM as their manufacturer code.

1305 is the DoD supply group code for ammunition through 30mm, so this may have been ammo from a US or NATO contract run.
