I recently bought some mags with ammo in it.  Can anyone ID the ammo?  This is what's on the case heads:

HB 5.56 green around primer
H1 5.56 green around primer
WCC 94 red on primer (Winchester made in 94?)
89 13 (South African made in 89?)
TZZ 96 with some kind of proof mark, green tip.

Also, does anyone know what grain bullets are in the South African battle packs?

Thanks

SA surplus is all 55 grain, I'll have to research the other stuff.

Thanks for the replies.

Are the IMI M855 the 62 grain steel core?  Is this the "armor piercing" round?

The IMI M855 is not "armor piercing".  Some use that as an advertising gimick, but it's just regular ball ammunition with a mild steel penetrator inside.  It is used to have better long range performance for the military.  62 grain.

This is really Lake City M193, but with Winchester's headstamp, as they were allowed to make/sell some of this ammo commercially back when they were running Lake City.  Federal/ATK is now running Lake City, and sells the same ammo as "XM193".

55gr.  The battle packs were M193-spec ammo; the new-production stuff is lighter-loaded commercial ammo.
