[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Need some headstamp ident. please.

I've searched but have not found any info for these 7.62 (.308) cartridges. Any help much appreciated.

The top 1 looks generic in make, 3rd one down is real nato ammo, last one looks like chinese ammo but i can be wrong.

A can be South Afrcan and probably is judging from all the SA surplus ammo around these days. Can also be Sudsteirische Metallindustri GmbH in Austria.

None of the others are in my notes. My PC monitor doesn't show the markings real well, though.

NATO headstamp appears on lots on ammo from non-NATO countries, don't depend on this marking.

Of the 5 headstamps that you're showing, I can ID 3 of them. The 2nd one from the top was made by Fabrique Nationale for the Republic of South Africa in 1974. The next on down is Canada. The one on the bottom is French.
