I'm going to order .223 dies and a case trimmer from Dillon and try my hand at reloading this caliber. Any advice those of you who reloade for ARs can offer? I plan to use the rounds for plinking: 55gr bullets (cheap). How about a recommended powder for .223? Any ideas appreciated! |

First: Why? This caliber is so cheap and readily available that your time would be better used shooting instead of reloading. But if you gotta, ... If you trim the case, make sure there are no burrs on the outside; it will jam a round in the chamber so tight that only a rod and hammer can clear it. If you want consistence, weigh each bullet and sort by weight. I used to use BLC2 but now I just buy ammo instead of reloading. |
