Restocking my SHTF and I'd like to find another 1-2K of LC M193, no more than a couple of years old (the newer, the better). I want to buy from an ammo supplier, NOT an individual, but all the usual sources (ammoman, etc.) seem to have only Lot 6 or 7 available, which I'm avoiding. Does anyone know where I can find what I'm looking for? Thanks.

yep..I had ordered a couple hundred rounds of Fed XM193 from Natchez myself about a month ago
and made another order and bought a case of it 3 days ago.
UPS guy should be at my house any day now.

Sportsman's Guide has had it for $179/1000. But I received lot6.  I think they are advertising 2002 production now, don't know which lot.  Shot some lot 6 this weekend...no problems and it was accurate.

ArmaLiter -
What kind of shape was the LC you bought from Natchez in? I'd be interested to know what he failure rate was/is. Was it any better or worse than the usual dings, dents and black stained cases which usually characterize LC?

I've still got a case and a half of LC Lot 7 that I got from Natchez. Except for no sealent around bullets (that everyone complains about) It's excellent ammo. Clean (but not pretty. who cares?) No problems with it. and my Bushmaster M4 LOVES it.

I only have experience with the LC LOT#3 as that is all I ever recieved from Natchez.
The brass isn't polished and looks like it's very old, but doesn't have any deep scratches or dents on them. The brass also does have some small black sealant spots on them and has some heat treating marks around the neck, but this is typical as many manufacturers don't feel it is necessary to make military ammo pretty.
The "ugly" brass has no effect on the performance of the ammo. UNLESS there are extreme dents and gouges in the brass, then I would say there was a real problem.
I have had no failures with LOT 3 up so far. I actually haven't heard of anyone having any real consistent failures with any Federal XM193 ammo. Have you? If so, let me know which LOT number.
