My barrel will be arriving this week, so all o have left is to purchase the correct buffer weight and sights.
From reading here the past few months it seems 5oz plus is the way to go. I have a PSA LRBHO Glock lower. Would really like for the LRBHO to function. I got a good deal on a used PSA 9mm BCG. Not sure if that's considered one of the heavier BCGs or not. Rudy recommended a 5.5-7.5oz buffer. I've seen joshv is a big fan of buffers in the 10oz range. Both of these guys seem pretty knowledgeable, not trying to say one is right and one is wrong. Which one should I go with? Has anyone here ran this lower with reliable LRBHO? Thanks. ETA Planning on running a standard carbine spring as that seems to be the standard advice here. |

There's no way to know for sure so trial and error is about the only thing I can tell you. My QC10 build ultimately required a 12 oz buffer to hold open when suppressed. I'd recommend starting somewhere in the middle and see what happens. |

I am using the Kaw Valley 9mm buffer. It's heavier and longer so you don't need any kind of spacers in the buffer extension. I also added their extra power spring for $5: http://www.joeboboutfitters.com/KVP_Solid_Stainless_Steel_Blowback_Buffer_7_5oz_p/kvp-buffer-7.5-9mm-ss.htm
I just need to get some sights and then I'll be able to try it out |

I stay in the range of 5.5 to 7.5 as it has been my experience that much heavier, it is possible to pull the trigger faster than the action cycles in rapid fire, and the hammer follows the bolt resulting in a misfire. If you never plan on rapid fire.....heavier is better from a recoil stand point. Never had a LRBHO issue on a colt pattern set up in that weight range either.....on the glock lowers the negative mechanical advantage generated by the actuator design may benefit form the heavier buffer.....but I can't say for certain as the hammer following the bolt in rapid fire made the heavier buffers not an option for me. |
