| I'm finishing up my 9mm build and was curious what sights you guys were using. I was thinking of just putting some Magpul MBUIS on there, but wondered if there were better options. What about HK style? Insight and experience would be greatly appreciated. |

What do you want to do with the gun?
I have a 16" with carry handle rear and fixed front. I have another 16" flat top with fixed front and midwest flip rear. I have several <8.5" and they just have red dots. I use mine mostly as cheaper training than .223/5.56 and for fun/games. |

Faster acquisition, able to shoot with both eyes open while moving or stationary, and given the range of a 9mm...I don't see any real benefit of iron sights. But if you do decide on sights....get some quality ones made from metal. MBUS are plastic, and really are designed as a back-up, not a primary set-up. . |

| I went with samson fixed HK style front and currently have magpul mbus rear. Shopping for a different rear soon. Nothing wrong with the magpul I have, just want something a little more robust feel is all. Might go with magpul mbus pro rear. I like the slimmer profile of it so it's more ergonomic in the folded down position when reaching for the CH quickly. |

I've got a few sets of Magpul MBUS flip ups, they work fine. Cheap & light. If buying online make sure you don't buy the airsoft versions, they're made by Magpul as well but not as well made.
Just got some Fab Defense flip ups for a 9mm pistol, I kinda prefer them to the Magpuls. More compact, cheaper and the front sight adjusts with a wheel so no site tool needed. But not a standard AR site post either. Not spring loaded but has enough resistance they stay in place. If you're just looking for an HK style front sight Samson & Troy both make one. I like the look of an HK 'style' front sight but an actual HK rear drum is a different animal. Easy to use but not as easy to dial in. There's a special tool to adjust an HK drum, although I had a set of slim needle nosed pliers that worked on my PTR-32. I'd rather just have a regular AR rear sight. The Magpul Pros also have a wheel adjustable front site. would like to try them but at that price I'd rather go with another set of Troy flip ups (my favorite if cost isn't a factor). |
| I have a set of MBUIS Pros on my AR9 pistol. I like them, but if I had the money, I'd swap them out to the HK 416 sights and swap the rear drum out to a proper 9mm drum. I like the idea of the completely fixed front sight of the HK. Adjusting them might be a pain, but you'd zero the gun for a specific load at a specific distance and then forget about it. If you need more adjustment, the HK diopter sights may not be what you want. |

I've considered those as well. Maybe a DD rear and a Troy HK-style front. That's what I was thinking. I ditched my dot and bought a knock off set of DI-optic style flips just to try the concept and see if I like it. If it works well, I will probably go Troy and DD, we will see. I am going out later today so we will see if they work well or not. |
