I have a PSA LRHO Glock lower and LPK on order with the intention of building an AR9 pistol and eventually turning it into a SBR. My question pertains to what upper receiver I can/should use in conjunction with the lower. If I understand it correctly I can use any standard AR upper, correct? It seems like most of the pistol specific uppers (NFA, JoeBob, etc) are currently out of stock. What about the gas tube port? Will excess gasses escape from that hole and effect function?

Thanks for your experience and insight.

I'm using a slick side Aero precision Ar upper.....9mm is blowback and The bolt/carrier is nothing like a DI AR.......I can't say I ever see gas coming out of the hole for the gas tube in the upper receiver.......if it does, its inconsequential.......

You can use any AR upper; the gas tube port makes no difference.

A 9mm upper typically has a no dust cover and a modified brass deflector but neither feature is absolutely necessary.

Try telling that to a lefty, haha! If you're right handed then they (deflector) are not needed.
