What is everyone using that works with no issues at all? My build has a KAK 9mm buffer, Wolff extra power spring, and a New Frontier spacer in the tube. THe lower is a CMMG with the CMMG ramp. The bolt will also be a CMMG if that helps.

What works well for you folks or should I just stick with purchasing a stock set for 9's and suck it up that it isn't match?

I run a Geissele SSA.

I have a QC10 Colt lower with the CMMG bolt assembly and I use the Timney 3lb trigger.  Works great.  Great single stage drop-in trigger IMHO.

I have a Geissele hi-speed match in my CMMG 9mm lower and it works fine with a RRA bolt that has been ramped.

Here's a very good write-up on Drop-in Triggers:  http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2016/04/jeremy-s/ar-15-drop-in-trigger-roundup/

Thanks guys for the replies. I keep reading about the hammer being broken buy these 9mm bolts and I'm just wondering which will be problematic or not. If the the SSA can run and not break in a CMMG bolt, that would be great to hear.

I got a Rise Black for $99 off of AIM for my new 9mm build.  Based on the chart above, looks like a good bang for the buck.  I'll let y'all know how it feels.

Geiselle G2S has worked for me perfect.Paid $129 on sale.

I have a Geiselle G2S in mine for a year now and have about 1500 rds on it with no issues. Best upgrade I ever did to my 9mm AR. My accuracy improved alot. Before the trigger upgrade I just accepted the fact that my 9mm was just was just ok as it was just a pistol caliber. Not anymore.

I would just stick with a Geiselle since it seems to have worked well for a lot of 9mm folks.

I recently completed a 9mm AR type pistol build and used the RISE ARMAMENT DROP IN TRIGGER RA140SST.
Lower was New Frontier 80% for Glock mags, New Frontier 9mm BCG.
Trigger felt great, guns runs great. No issues.

AND...JSE surplus has them currently available for $95 when you add it to the cart.

If breakage is a concern, I'll send you one of our MBTs to run-to-fail ... copy this post and email to me at

Dude I'd take him up on it. I have two MBT's and they are great triggers. Only reason I didn't get one for this 9mm build is I didn't want to pay the premium to not be on the wait list for one. They only reason there is a wait list is because they are damn good triggers and everyone wants one.

Greetings,

Can't say "best" as there are such a huge variety of FCGs out there, but I'm very happy with the Gieslee SSA/E I installed in my 9mm AR when I first built it. I've had no inclination to replace it at all.  BTW,

I had my bolt ramped so I could use any unit. Best of luck finding what works for you.

Regards, Jim

Im still building my 9mm AR so I am not much help but I went with an AR Gold trigger to match the rest of my AR's.  Im hoping I wont have any issues with it.  Its an expensive trigger but I think it is great and wanted all my AR's to have the same feel and also has the same feel as a good 1911/2011 pistol trigger.
If your down in the valley ever, let me know if you want to try it out in one of my other guns.

Prob hard to pass up Mark's offer tho.  I always thinks its cool when an owner will post up in here, and we can deal/talk direct with them.

My other vote would be KE Arms, I havent tried their trigger, but as Im sure you know, they are local to us.  They are also a supporter of 3gun matches (prob other matches too).  You could reach out to them to see what they say about their trigger in a 9mm AR.  One of their sponsored shooters post in our HTF occasionally.

Good luck in your search and look forward to hearing what you chose

Yeah I would take offer from Mark. I use two of his currently and would jump on his offer to test a third in my 9mm AR SBR.

That's a gonga deal from LaRue Tactical. I run what most consider to be a time bomb in my 9mm SBR. It's a stock Rock River Arms trigger that I sent to Bill Springfield. Now, I've read all the reports about his trigger does this and his trigger does that and while I'm not saying the dont......the one I have is flawless and hasn't skipped a beat in the 5 years or so I've owned and shot it. Good luck, Lotta good triggers out there to choose from.

I picked up The $99 Rise Trigger from AIM Surplus http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=XRISERA140&name=RISE+Armament+RA-140+Super+Sporting+Performance+Trigger&groupid=6   I am about 45 minutes from AIm.   I went over there on a day off work.   They have a wall of AR15s  that are built of different components.  There is a paper beside each AR that tells what components they are assembled with and there prices.  I got to check out some really nice build guns.  Some of them were really high end builds.   I picked up an AR while I was looking for a red dot.  That AR had the rise trigger in it and I did not know it.  I just thought it was a great trigger.  When I saw it was $99 that sealed the deal.   I picked up a Primary Arms red dot and the Rise trigger.  I shot it last night probably put about 100 rounds through it.   I would buy this trigger again in a heart beat

Sweet. I will run it through some stress tests and of course accuracy tests and do a full review.

Thanks for the opportunity Mark.

Well if we're giving away triggers I do have a new 9mm AR that could use an upgrade...

I am curious actually, are these triggers mostly for long range shooting or would they be good for close, faster shooting as well?  Mine is going to be used for USPSA PCC competitions and other carbine matches and I've been looking at various options for a trigger upgrade.

I got the Larue MBT trigger from Mark today.  I am very excited to "run to failure" (...as stated by Mark.....) and report back.  Judging by the quality of my other MBT's, "failure" is a long way off.  So I will run it for 1K rounds and report back.

Can you please post the specs of your 9mm you are running the MBT in - carrier, bolt, lower and etc

I have an mbt in my 11.5 sbr (.556) and love it.  I don't think I would like the g2s-e that is in my SPR in anything but a precision gun.  I have another mbt on order and if it comes before I finish buying parts for my 9mm build I will throw the Larue in it.  If not I have a spikes battle trigger that I really like as a milspecish single stage and will drop the mbt in my noveske.  I really like the shape of the mbt more than anything.
