Does anyone have any suggestions for painting/coating Metalform mags? I left a couple in an ammo can that it sprinkled in and like a fool I didn't take them out and dry them when I got home. Now there are some nasty rust spots coming through the factory coating and I want to sand them down and recoat them before it gets worse. Would Cerakote be okay for coating magazines? I've never painted mags before and don't want to use anything that might interfere with their reliability. Thanks!

Sand down and use cold blue?

I could see a coating causing problems with them not dropping free. Could be wrong, never seen it done or tested.

That was my worry too. I didn't think of cold blue though, good call!

clean the metal religiously....then use a hair dryer to heat the metal before applying  cold blue. Complete the process by applying a good coat of the wax of your choice. Renaissance Wax is the best, Johnson's paste wax is good, and carnuba based car wax will work.
