I ordered the 9mm 16"  kit from PSA.  I knew going in that the kit includes a slick side-upper, and a non-ramped bolt.   But, for $420.00 to my door, I thought I'd give it a try.  I've read again, and again that the non-ramped bolts will smack the heck out of your hammerer, and this force will go directly to the hammer pin, subsequently causing your hammer pin to egg-out the pin holes in your receiver.

Are these reports of "egg hole" damage real, or just myth?     I wanted to find out, and I have a few extra lowers looking for work.    I installed the PSA 9mm kit kit on a $29.00 lower (80% Tactical machine).   Basically, I was willing to risk a $29.00 TM Lower to find out if the "egg hole" stories are real, or just something that gets repeated on the internet.

The problems I encountered were basically jams, which I traced back to the PSA 9mm magazine block.   I noticed that the magazine block slips right into the lower, and is held in place by magazine catch bar, and to a lesser extent by the bolt catch.   Again, the problem seems to be that the magazine block moves up & down.

I moved the PSA 9mm upper to my dedicated 9mm lowers, and it runs okay.  I tried the PSA magazine block in a mix of 80% lowers, and store bought lowers from RRA, PSA, Colt, etc., and the PSA Mag block fits loose in every lower.    I also used both anodized and painted lowers.   It's just loose in everything.

I contacted PSA, and they sent me a UPS return label, and I returned the mag block.   PSA sent it back to me a couple of weeks later, without a note, invoice, letter or any explanation.  NO, it wasn't fixed or replaced.   I complained again, and a guy by the name of "Frank" sent me an email with instructions to put lots of lube on the magazine block, and pound it into the lower with a rubber hammer.   Evidently, they don't actually read the emails.

Thanks in advance for any constructive feedback and suggestions.

make sure the screws that hold the adapter are tight for one thing. Also make sure the mag catch moves freely up and down. I assume you have the top insert mag adapter. I have two and both function just fine. Its possible your lower isnt in spec as well or your mag catch may need to be replaced or the spring inside. I used all new parts when i built my 9 mm rifle. As for trigger pins I use stainless steel pins which are harder than standard pins. Also are you using a 9mm buffer or a standard buffer. if egging worries you get a KNS pin set.

I also have on of their 9mm rifle kits that I assembled on an Anderson lower. The mag block slide into the lower easily and while I can feel a little movement when I push on it with my fingers, I have not had one problem in 600 rounds through it so far.

I did have the bolt ramped by the Mad Machinist - good deal, fast turn around.

Maybe its a magazine issue?

What type of magazines are you using? I ordered 3 of the PSA 9mm mags and it all I've used.
