Today I was doing some target shooting with my CMMG .22 upper and had a FTF. After a repeat I dropped the mag and out fell a piece of the firing pin. The thin section that slides through the bolt face snapped off. The upper has more than 500, but less than 1000 rounds through it, so needless to say I was a little flabbergasted.

Has anyone else had this happen? Would it be worthwhile to hit CMMG up about getting a new firing pin, or are there better options?

ETA: I called CMMG today, and the nice gentleman on the phone informed me that they would send me a couple replacements under warranty. Excellent customer service.

I do not speak for CMMG but if you give them a call I am 100% confident they will send you one out for free promptly..

I have Taccoms enhanced firing pin in one of our CMMGs compliments of Taccom, and it has been very solid.

CMMG will make it right. Contact them.

Taccom reliability kit is what I use in all my .22 BCG's.

I had my CMMG firing pin break as well. I didn't even think to contact them about replacing it for free since it's a $15 part, I just ordered a new one.

I can remember breaking a few Ciener firing pins and it wouldn't bother me to bad to break a firing pin now.  At least I'd be shooting some 22's which I can't  find to buy.
