Hi guys, whats your thoughts on using these ACOG clones/replicas , I see there are some coming from japan with real fiber optic illumination, what do ya think??

| I picked up one of those cheap knockoff no name 1x30 green dot sights that look like an ACOG off Amazon for $70 a few years ago. Had the working fiber optic sight, 6 MOA dot (which is HUGE!) and a battery backup. I was mainly interested in something that would work without batteries and a real ACOG was out of my price range. Bought it for a.22 build I never finished so I mounted it on my 9mm AR and first trip out a ring inside came loose, I took it apart and couldn't see what function it served other than a light baffle so I tossed it. So far it's worked fine and held zero. Now for $70 a Bushnell TRS-25 is a much better optic. I've got some no name $30 reflex sights that perform as well as this fako ACOG. But it does work and works without batteries if you want. Even indoors in a dim room the dot is visible, and doesn't wash out in direct sunlight. Just wish that someone made a decent $100 red dot/reflex sight that used fiber optics. |
