Are you using good ammunition? Did another firearm function with the ammunition? Were there dimples on the primers when you ejected the non-fired rounds? Open it so you can see the hammer, check the function of the hammer, trigger, and safety. DO NOT let the hammer hit the receiver when you do this, hold your thumb against it so it doesn't fly forward.
Cock the hammer. Safety - on safe - pull trigger, hammer should not fall Safety - on fire - pull trigger and hold it all the way to the rear, hammer should fall with the trigger still all the way back, push the hammer back, it should hold in a rearward position Let the trigger go forward, the hammer should stay cocked. You'll hear a lick as the hammer goes from being held by the disconnector (trigger back) to being held by the sear (trigger forward). |
