I bought a CMMG Alpha conversion kit a while ago and it worked pretty well for the most part with even the crappiest bulk ammo.

I recently bought their 4.5" barrel/collar kit for a dedicated .22 SBR and with that I'm getting a lot of failure to feeds, even with CCI Mini Mag. The problems exacerbate with bulk ammo. When I do an admin load on the first round, the round goes in at an angle and doesn't feed properly. I have to remove the magazine and play with the round to get it all the way in the chamber. This happens regardless of how many rounds are in the mag.

I'll also get a bunch of failure to feeds. About 5-10 per 25 round mag.

Mags used are CMMG gray mags.

What do I do?

Buzz the chamber and polish the feed ramp. If that doesn't work, email CMMG tech support. I had to sent my bcg in because the collar was messed up.

I don't like modifying stuff and mucking with warranty. I'll contact them and see what's up.

CMMG actually recommends buzzing the chamber, or at least they did when I worked with them.

My cmmg upper had similar issues for the first 100 or so rounds or so but them smoothed out. Polishing the feed ramps should help speed things up.

What is "buzzing the chamber"?

I got my bolt back yesterday and just ran 15 rounds rapid fire with no issues. Sweet.
