I am planning on using the Taccom pressure plug without the buffer - is this correct?
Thanks |

Here is the 'official' TACCOM response.....
We recommend that you run the PP in front of the buffer. This is a safe condition....especially, if you are prone to switching between the RF upper and a CF upper. Of course, you should remove the PP when going to the CF, but if you forget....you will be gently and kindly reminded to remove the PP as you will not be able to pick up a round out of the magazine.....basically the safest way to use our PP in your AR15 On the other hand......using just the PP and the spring (no buffer) WILL create a very dangerous situation....when swaping out to a CF upper and forgeting to replace the PP with your buffer.....the bolt will go back too far and most likely cause damage to your weapon and inflict injury or death to the user. IT IS BETTER AND SAFER TO ADD THE PRESSURE PLUG IN FRONT OF THE BUFFER, than to replace the buffer with the pressure plug. This has been a public service announcement Tim |

I don't think it should matter. But can one pull the weights from the buffer to lighten the rifle? MAHA Yep we removed the weights just as Maha says to save a little weight.. Just had to out them back in though recently as we assembled a .223 upper to use the lower with as a double purpose. |

TACCOM should create a derlin buffer that is the size of the buffer and pressure plug combined (maybe even a bit shorter on the back end - as long as it captures the buffer spring). This would be very popular for all the guys doing lightweight builds. Like this? MAHA |
