I need a mag adapter for my .223 lower that will accept uzi/colt smg mags.

what is the best option under $100 or is there one?

and, does anyone make an adapter for glock mags? I have not seen any but would rather go this way of course.

thanks

I will not be buying a dedicated glock mag lower. thanks in advance

Uzi and Colt mags are not the same.  You have to pick one. Glock mags are too wide to fit in a mag well.

my understanding is the uzi mags need a slight modification but that is all

They have the same outer dimensions and will work in the same magwell adapter.
The Uzi mags need a slot cut in the side of them to work with the mag catch/release.
No last round bolt hold open with Uzi mags.

Hahn Precison is the best option for a magwell adapter.

For under $100.00 ?

Won't find much,

Promag has one for about $40.00 but I wouldn't expect much.

Better up your budget to about $150.00.

Uzi style Mags are adaptable to Blow Back and Gas Operated Systems.
Colt Mags are plain Over Priced.

At $150, you're almost up to a CMMG 9mm lower that accepts Colt / Metalform style mags. It should also accept Uzi mags once you've modified them by cutting a slot as shown below:

I run a DDLES lower. The quality is great, but there is a 60 or 70 page thread of people saying that it now takes forever to get their order so I can't recommend ordering one.

My first 9mm AR I used a Promag adaptor  It worked great,  never had any problems, FYI Promag adaptor advertise Lifetime warranty
I upgraded my lower to DDLES

I would suggest before spending a lot of money on a adaptor, just get a dedicated lower
CMMG makes one and DDLES  were avaible at riflegear

I use unmodified Uzi mags in a mag block made for them.

If I'm not mistaken, Colt mags will not fit in an Uzi block, but Uzi mags will fit in a Colt block.  The differences being the mag catch, and the channel for the last round hold-open on the back of the mag.

I would suggest spending the money you might spend on a dedicated lower getting a tax stamp for a standard lower, instead.  To me, one of the cool things about a 9mm conversion is that I can slap a 5.56 or .22 upper on it.  I'll probably never have a dedicated (magazine limited) 9mm lower.

Make damn sure you do your homework about DDLES before you buy.

Same spring.

Need a 9mm buffer or heavier.
I use the Slash Q buffer which is very heavy (a couple ounces more than a 9mm) and longer, which limits bolt over travel.

I have, I will buy one when I see it in stock. I am not going to try to preorder from someone that does not honor preorders. I didn't see anything about quality etc

thats the only way I'd buy another one too, there was one on gunbroker last week for a "buy it now" of $450.00 complete, glock mag style, there was another thread where a guy was looking at it, I was giving him 24 hours on it but he picked it up
