Factory DPMS 22LR on a High Standard lower. Been too windy to for accuracy testing. Runs 100% so far with ammo I have run thru it. Would like to change to a rifle length free float. Any suggestions that will not break the bank. Is this something I can do with a strap wrench and a USGI barrel wrench?

Taccom makes a very lightweight carbon fiber handguard.

ETA: Check with Tim for compatibility issues with your barrel and bipod lug

WOW, I did not know that a fiber carbon could be that cheap. Can a stud be installed on this for a bipod?

I've had great success with the AP custom handguards. They aren't as cost effective as the TACCOM tubes, but are larger diameter for those of us with larger mitts. And the vents are nice too.
