Hello all,

I've been reading a lot on these forms recently as this is my first long gun. I searched a fair amount before posting, but I can't figure out the difference on two CMMG uppers.

http://www.cmmginc.com/product_p/22b1c50.htm

and

http://www.cmmginc.com/product_p/22b7ce6.htm

Basically, I don't understand what Car LW is. I was assuming carbine light weight, but I just wanted to make sure. There isn't much difference in the pictures, just a subtle change in the barrel between the sight block and the muzzle device.

What are the actual physical differences between these two uppers?

Thanks for the help!

Carbine lightweight barrel compared to the heavier m4 barrel. That is the only difference in the 2 you mention. Many suggest you upgrade to the stainless bolt and that also gives you a working forward assist.

The description is right on the bottom of the page. They are both Carbine length gas systems. The lightweight has the pencil barrel and the other has a m4 .gov profile barrel. Both are 1:16 twist for the 22 LR.

FWIW, the 22 is blowback and doesn't use a gas tube but the positioning of the block is carbine length.

Get the stainless upgrade(s).  I have what I think is the older version of http://www.cmmginc.com/product_p/22b7c16.htm.
