| Are that metal or plastic like the S&W? What do they use for a 22BCG? Sorry for the dumb questions but I'm new to dedicated uppers and don't want to buy something cheap or inferior. Nevermind, I found my answer. Does anybody make a metal upper conversion unit? |

Mine runs and runs and runs. Would i buy another one? Probably not, I'd get something higher quality. Factory mag is garbage, black dog machine mags all the way. They are polymer.
Getting ready to put it on a poly lower, and it'll be a nice light backpack gun. Quality on them seems to vary quite a bit, and I suppose I got pretty lucky with mine. |

I have ran my Chiappa upper on my DPMS and New Frontier lowers using the factory Chiappa magazines without any problems what so ever. Mine has been good to go. Like any .22 upper, use good ammo (plated/copper wash). For some the Chiappa upper runs great and some have problems. Chiappa seems to be like Taurus, either you like them or you don't. I bought the Chiappa upper on sale. If I had to pay full retail price, I probably would have went with a different upper. The Chiappa is a copy of the Tactical Solutions upper. |

Thanks for the information guys. I think I'll stick with something with a metal receiver. Wise Choice indeed. CMMG or Tacccom Our favorite is one of our CMMGs with a Taccom ULW Barrel. Our CMMGs are not picky about ammo. If they were they would not be here any longer. Both CMMGs will function 100% with any cheap bulk ammo brand. Even Standard Velocity CCIs, plain lead bullets, at 1050 FPS function 100%. Thats actually our favorite ammo to run in them for accurracy..And they are very quiet too. Tried a drum mag of 50 rounds of Remington turds one day just to see if they would work and all 50 fired, fed and ejected perfectly. A well made Dedicated .22 upper should not have a ammo brand preferance. If it does there is something wrong.. |

I tried to offer testing a Chiappa but that's as far as things went.
They're like those computer software ads in the middle of the night. You should consider yourself very lucky if they don't turn you off to shooting, all together. I just wanted to see what kinda crap they were made of. I'm happy that it went no further. Plastic upper receivers for an AR-22 are fine, it's the rest of the upper I would be concerned about. Lots of horror stories floating around about Chiappa. Dave S |

garbage. I probably give mine away. Factory mags wont feed at all. I tried two different lowers. I have to use CMMG mags with tabs added to the back edge or they wont feed at all. I have it down to an FTF every 20 or so rounds. Quoted:
My M&P 15-22 came in yesterday. Now I need to figure out what to build next for my extra 223 lower. The Chiappa is going to go live in the parts bin if you're going to give it away you can send it to me

Guess I got lucky and got a good upper that works every time. That is the problem....some work.....some don't. Its a knock off of the Tactical Solutions only built much cheaper. Buddy has one that runs OK, but another buddy had one and it was first class POS. Go figure. Me, I will stick to something I can trust. |
