[ARCHIVED THREAD] - New CMMG Upper question

Just picked up a new CMMG dedicated upper, and am wondering if this will work reliably with the notched hammer in my current lower, or if the hammer needs to be replaced with a rounded hammer.

I am guessing it will be trial by error, but was looking for input from other users.

Some do, some don't.
Really depends on tolerances.
I would try it first.

I noticed in another thread you talked about CMMG uppers, and if possible picking up an older unit, one that was made a year or two earlier... what changes have been made over the course of the last couple of years?
