| Anyone else feel the spring in this mag is a bit feeble and needs to be replaced / upgraded ? Just finding it doesn't have enough tension in it to reliably feed. Curious to know if anyone else has had issues with these ? Thx |
I had problems with mine not actuating the BHOA. It does seem weak and I got a replacement spring from CMMG to fix it. It does help a bit but not a lot. It feeds reliably and works right but still won't actuate the BHOA. I adjusted everything correctly too. I brought it up with them and they think I'm crazy.
Still a good mag and conversion kit though. |

I wasn't happy with the magazine working the BHOA. I just removed the BHOA and spring kits on my magazines. The hold open still works fine when the magazine is in like the original design. I pick up a spent case and put in into hold the bolt open between magazines. |

the solution is the Boonie Packer adapter for 15-22 magazines. Full function bhoa and you can use the superior 15-22 magazines.

ollie is correct, and losd is correct. My 25rd Evoluation mags feed perfectly the little I've used them. Those mags with the BHOA don't reliably hold the bolt open though. The previous gen gray CMMG mags I had with the Gen1 BHOA did work very reliably though, but those mags kinda were lame compared to the Evolution mags in terms of the feed lips and loading up full mags. Thus, I picked up the Better-Mag adapter that losd mentioned and bolt hold-open worked perfectly right off the bat with the lone M&P15-22 mag I was able to try. I've got more 15-22 mags on the way to try out, but I'm going that route. I like the CMMG conversion bolt and dedicated upper I have though. Just not happy at all with the BHOA.

I went to the harware store and bought a piece of coil spring the same as the CMMG spring and put about a 1 inch piece of the hardware store spring under the original spring. That made the BHOA work perfecty and did not really make loading the mag any more difficult...
Individual results may vary, but that worked for us.. |
