I have looked and I cannot find the thread here talking about a buffer thing you can use in a AR22 lower to hold the AR22 bolt more firmly forward. I was mainly wanting to know if these can be installed and used in a lower that is a multi pupose lower between a 22 and a 5.56 upper. Or does it have to be removed everytime you switch caliber uppers..Thanks

Not sure where that thread is....but you are talking about 'the pressure plug'. It does need to be removed when you switch from 22LR to .223.

That being said, the patent pending on that part also extends to a new buffer that will be availible soon, that already has the protrusion and will not need to be removed when switching from 22LR to .223 (or any other caliber that requires a rifle or carbine buffer). the part will be more than the $7.95 pressure plug, but on par with current buffers out there on the market.

Tim

PS.....finally, if you would happen to forget to remove the pressure plug when switch to the .223, this would not be a dangerous situation (from a function standpoint). You would just be kindly reminded to remove it the first time you try to charge your weapon, as you will not be able to load out of your magazine.

Thanks, any guess when the new buffer may be out? A guess is good enough, do not need a specific date..
One last thing how hard is to remove and reinstall? If its pretty simple a few minutes would not be a big concern..

I'd guess by fall??? But I hate giving out ANY dates.....priorities change too fast in this game.

Takes about 5 seconds to install or take out......just press the retainer pin down. It's easier than simple actually.

I have personally seen the pressure plug solve light strike problems.
