I just bought a CMMG BHOA from CMMG and it came inside a bag with a spring.. cant figure out what the purpose of the spring is.
Any ideas?

I've heard that it's a bolt catch spring to replace the one currently in your lower. I had to remove 2 coils from mine so the bolt would remain open on last shot. The spring in your BHOA kit will do the same thing so you don't have to cut your original spring.

That's a nice touch from CMMG. When I bought my BHOA I had to cut my bolt catch spring too. Even my slightly shortened bolt catch spring holds the catch on the receiver so I'm good to go.
