Built a "parts bin" 9mm AR: CMMG M4 14.5" 9mm upper, CMMG ramped bolt, no name lower w/ mag block w/ BHOA.  Finally sighted it in this past weekend and put about 200 rounds down the pipe.  It ran almost without any problems using CProducts mags, however, I found in alot of cases a fully loaded mag would self eject from the lower as the bolt would go past it; which was solved by simply holding the magazine so I could complete my sight in.  After some examination, it appeared as thought the mag catch might not be deep enough into the mag block and/or the edges of the mag catch are a little too rounded and can't quite keep the mag in place with the force of the bolt going by. Another thought was that perhaps the mag catch wsn't tight enough.

Has anyone else had a simliar problem?

Many have had this problem, get a diferent mag catch or file the back side of the one you have so it will go deeper in the mag slot.

I went through three different catches before I found "the one" for my dedicated 9mm lower.

You might want to give this one a try -> http://stores.9mmar.com/-strse-139/Spikes-Tactical-Mag-Catch/Detail.bok

ETA: Reading this thread this morning reminded me that I have a Troy ambi mag release to try out in my dedicated 9mm lower. When I got home I gave it a shot... No go. It wouldn't catch and hold the 9mm mags either.

I had the exact same issue with a RRA 9mm as well. I ended up buying an extended 9mm mag catch. They (RRA) doesn't list it in their catalog, but if you call the parts dept, I'm sure they'll know what you need. After it was swapped it ran perfect. Sucks when you are shooting and having fun and the damn mag keeps falling out.

Just to follow up; the RRA part number is 9mm0099, but it is not listed in their online catalog so you can only order it over the phone.
