Just build a .223 upper and find a  .22 bolt.  When the fun wears off of that then all you need is a BCG.

You do realize that you'll need to buy someones bolt too I hope as it doesn't come with one any more..

I'm not sure why anyone would pay $450 for a .22 upper with no bolt when you can buy a complete .22 upper from CMMG with a stainless bolt that actually works and is backed by great customer service.

There is a reason why Spikes doesn't sell "complete" .22 uppers anymore. I would figure that out before spending much money on one.

Listen to what Dave says. That price may not seem too bad but then add in how much a complete bolt assembly will add to the cost. ($150 to $200). All  of a sudden that unit doesn't seem too cheap any more. The CMMG's are the way to go. Price is right, service is great, warranty is great, and these guys have sold a TON of them, taking over the .22 market. They sell all the parts, they service what goes wrong, and with the large number of them out there you can be assured there will be parts. Its your money, spend it anyway you want, but don't forget to read the small print before you pop for a "bargain" on a Spikes that doesn't include a bolt.

OH, and you looked hard enough, Spikes just isn't the big player in .22 AR any more.

I have 2 spikes, they work great but my next one will be cmmg b/c of lack of spare parts for the st22.
