Just bought a Colt M16 SPR 22LR, came with solid butt stock. Looking to get a sliding stock to put on it. What would be a good one to get and where. Never replaced a stock before and would like to know how hard would it be and what tools would I need to get.

Thanks

It's not terribly difficult.  Although, I'm not sure how the .22s are put together.  I know that the .22 M&P has a molded lower with the extension as a part of the lower, and only to facilitate a collapsible butt stock.  (not removable or replaceable)

Without looking or knowing for sure, I would guess that the Colt is similar in that the extension is a molded in part of the lower.

notice no castle nut (locking ring) on the receiver extension (buffer tube)

I haven't found a good pic of the Colt, maybe you could provide one.
