| Planning on getting the cmmg stainless kit because I have an indoor range close by and way more opportunity to shoot than 223. Range is 75 ft, what is the typical difference of impact of 22 and 223 aat @ 25 yds? Can I theoretically zero with 22 say an inch or two low and be close to center of target with 223? Probably a half assed way to go about it so In the meantime I hope to get out more and shoot the 223. Using a 16 inch 1x9 with a red dot. Thanks for all the info here. |

different rifle will shoot the .22 rimfire ammo to different points of impact.
My xm177 clone shoots exactly 3" lowere than the .223 rounds. My 20" HBAR clone shoots and inch low/right of the .223 rounds. I think my son's 20"HBAR clone shoots an inch right and almost 2" low of the .223 rounds. Try your's out and see where its hitting vs. the .223 ammo. Then write it down |
| I zeroed my ST22 at 25 yards, It is right out at 25, fairly good at 75, and just a tad low at 100. I wouldn't use it past 100 anyway. Up close - 5-7 yards - it shoots a couple inches low. This is attributable to the sight plane being above the barrel, Doesn't bother me much, I just hold it over a couple inches when shooting close in. I am using a PA micro red dot that is dead nuts on. Lots of fun to shoot. |
