Took my new CMMG .22 upper to the quarry for the first time this morning. I had about
an hours worth of fun for the cost of two .458 rnds., didn't have to pickup any brass and
I'm not spending the evening reloading. Dang ! This could become adictive !

Down side was loading magazines with frozen fingers.

Now I've got to sell my Adaptor Kit.

It's mostly what I shoot these days. I can shoot all day for $20.
Since I've had the CMMG Evolution, it's fun again. I'm not fighting FTE's anymore. Accuracy is good. I couldn't ask for more.
Enjoy it.

My CMMG 22lr goes with me every time to the range and I take one of my 5.56 AR's maybe every fourth or fifth trip to the range.

Lots of trigger time on the cheap is addicting

Don't you just love it. All that money stays in your pocket instead of out the end of the barrel.
Welcome to the world that's held me hostage for several years now. Last time I checked, I'd
saved somewhere over $30,000 vs shooting .223 / 5.56 to the same round count. And My
barrels aren't all shot out, they're not much more than barely broken in... Win, Win, Win.

Since I got my CMMG upper I've decided to stay on a rimfire kick. I already have a pile of  .22's and my favorite suppressor hosts are my Glock 17 with AA .22 kit and now my dedicated .22 AR. I dropped my Ceiner kit in the 20" Bushmaster and next time I head to the range it might be entirely rimfire. It's nice to shoot all day for less than 100 rounds of 5.56.

For the frozen fingers you may wish to use those one-time hand warmer packs that are like slowed down MRE heaters.  The warmers last several hours before they "burn out".

The .22 conversion was one of my better firearms investments.  Paid for itself real fast.  I gave my son a deicated .22 upper for Christmas so he can use his AR-15 for squirrel hunting and cheap plinking.

Just watched an episode of Impossible Shots that I recorded.

Jerry Miculek used a dedicated M&P .22 to snap shoot on a small balloon target out past Ft Mudge.... near 200 yds in under 1 second from ready.

Makes me think there is a .22 dedicated upper in my near future....... you guys are having too much fun. It will take lots of practice.

Happy New Year.

My upper arrived yesterday.  I took it and put it on my lower and pulled the charging handle back and it (charging handle) broke at the latch on the first try.  I then replaced it with one from one of my rifles and it seemed to work fine so I put a full mag in it to see how it cycled live rounds and it won't extract them.  I pull the charging hanlde back and it pulls the round out of the chamber and drops it and I have to turn it on its side and shake it to get the live round to drop out.  I called CMMG just a little bit ago and I'm waiting on them to call me back.

Update: I just got off of the phone with Jordan at CMMG and they are taking care of the problem.  THANKS CMMG.

hmmmmmmmm.....this is never what I want to hear. One problem is bad enough, but two??  Give us a buzz and we will get you some replacement parts out immediately so you can have trouble free shooting.  I sure hate to hear about this.  Sorry for the hassle

CMMG has great customer service, they will take care of you in no time. I need to get one of these dedicated uppers, getting tired of my old 22 conversion jamming every 4 or 5 rounds.

I sent you an IM. We can't find a message from you. Shoot me an IM or call CMMG and ask for Jordan.
Dave

Glad they took care of you. This is certainly not typical. You have my luck.

Update:  CMMG sent me a new charging handle and a new bolt assembly and it now functions 100%.
They contacted me on Wednesday and the parts were here by Friday.  You can't ask for better customer service than that.  Once again THANKS CMMG.
