I just found a broken FP in my AR-9mm.

Is this normal?  Round count is about 7K (no auto, but lots of rapid fire and about an extra 10K of dry fire )
FP broke in the ring area (red line).

I need a good online vendor that carries AR-9mm (Colt style) Firing Pins?  Anyone besides RRA?

Any help will be appreciated.

SAW is $30

RRA is only $12

Brownells is $26 or $21...

Numrich is $23

CMMG?

Spikes?

I haven't found anyone cheaper than RRA myself and I've never had an issue with ordering small parts from them and getting them quickly.  Is there a reason why you don't want to go with RRA?

Thanks for the replies gents.

My issue with RRA is that I want it fast... sorry, bad experience in the past.

Kevin: I found the $26 Colt one at Brownells.   Got a link for the $21 one?

As Kevin noted, RRA is typically quite speedy with small parts.

$21 price is LEO/Mil/Dealer price

RRA has always been fast with in stock small parts - call to verify availability and if in stock, place the order immediately over the phone and pay with CC - you should have it in your hands within a few days to a week.

anyone know if the CMMG bolts use the same FP as Colt/RRA??
I think I would like to have a spare on hand

My Colt and RRA extractors stuck out an 1/8" farther from the front of a CMMG bolt and wouldn't workt - never tried to interchange firing pins when I had some CMMG bolts.

OK, decided to go with RRA.  I wasnt in the mood for รก $30 FP + shipping...

Placed the order online for 2 FP's and 2 FP springs... $28 and free shipping... not bad.

Now, order was placed 07/10/2010 and still my CC has not been charged... I guess Im the one with bad luck

Strange.

Mine likes to break at the tip.  The first one went after only a few thousand rounds.

The one in it now has a slightly bent tip, like it's thinking about breaking some time.  I've got another spare on hand, and it's held up so far.
