I have modified three B.D.M. mag's for bench shooting, for one thing in CA. you can only have a 10 round mag. B.D.M. makes a 26 round mag into a 10 round by adding a post in the mag.
The nice thing about these mag's is that they can be taken apart, held together with 6, 4-40 allen cap screws. I also like the material as it is easy on the alum receiver for wear. Once I made some fine adjustments to the mag's they work great with all types of ammo I have used. 1. Measure 3/8' from the center screw holes. 2. Cut the complete mag with both sides screwed together, using a power miter saw. This makes a nice clean cut! 3. Fill in the bottom section with J.P. WELD . 4. Drill four holes into the J.P.WELD section. 5. Press in the brass 4-40 inserts, same as B.D.M. use's. 6. Using black polycarbonate 1/4" thick material cut out the bottom section 7/8" by 2- 7/16" 7. Drill and counter-bore four holes for the 4-40 screws. 8. Use 3/8" long 4-40 allen cap screws to secure the bottom plate http://i39.tinypic.com/jf88pv.jpghttp://i40.tinypic.com/do48ly.jpghttp://i41.tinypic.com/2qlabgl.jpghttp://i41.tinypic.com/21e2emt.jpghttp://i39.tinypic.com/f3uoao.jpghttp://i40.tinypic.com/16ljwbt.jpghttp://i39.tinypic.com/jf88pv.jpg |

B.D.M. makes only a 26 round size mag for the M261 unit, and for states that require 10 rounds they mold a post in the mag. That answers it. I connected BDM's with the Spikes/Ceiner/Tac Sol type units and didn't see you were using an M261. Anyway, excellent work. |
