I was over at a local gun shop picking up my new NHM-91 and while waiting I saw this AR 22 bolt.  I asked about it and how much he wanted for it.  He indicated that he thought it was an USAF conversion bolt and required a white plactic mag to work.  He said if I wanted it he let it go for "$10" and then you know I just had to have it at that point!  Looked all over for mfg and only thing I find is a PN 104190 and either RH or RW or RN.   Searched the web and can't find anthing that looks like it.  It's not an Atchisson or a CCMG.  Can anyone ID it and what kind of magazine I need for it?  Fits upper just fine but thout it unusual tha it had no gas block on top.  Seems like it will get pretty dirty on the upper!  Thanks, Ron

It's an M-261 Conversion. US Army. A total steal at the price you paid. BDM has magazines for this and is
developing magazines for the USAF Unit.......

Way Cool Deal,
Congrats,
Spec

US Air Force on top And Army M-261 on bottom.

$10 bucks...geez....some deal! Wish I could run into that sort of thing. All the shops I know of think everything they have is some rare artifact and worth a small fortune.

Good score...worth way more than you paid.

Thanks for the quick info and pics!  Which mags do you like best as far as function?  At the price I paid I'll probably buy both kinds of mags.  Do the Army mags have to have an adapter to fit into the mag well?  Sarco has the Army type.  I saw some differant type Black mags on sale for $29.   Thanks, Ron in Tampa

Black Dog mags are the best. But I would buy at least one Military mag that way you have a complete set up
And you stole that thing they sell for around $150 to $200 with 2 Military mag.

Yes the "army" mags fit in side of the standard .223 mags They work best with the straight 20 rounds mags but they will work with the 30 rounds also

Does the upper get a lot of blow back and carbon?  I know it only a 22lr but seems like it's gotta get pretty dirty.  I seem to remember useing the white mags, when I was still in the Air Force, but can't seem to remember the bolts.  They only let us "touch" them once a year for qualification training.  Don't think I'll gloat next time I go back in the store cause he'll get me big time on next thing I need.  He's really a savvy dealer and can't figure out why he sold it so cheap.  Every once in awhile you step in "s**t" but this time I fell into a box of chocolates!  LoL

Mine did get dirty but it never stop working. I was always scared that the .223 gas tube would get plugged up so I always shoot a couple rounds of .233 out of mine after I shot the .22LR to "blow" out the gas tube
I am not sure if it made a differnts but it made me feel better thou.

The real question is, How much did you pay for the NHM-91?   Your dealer might have cut you a break on you conversion...

Thanks singtoe.  I just ordered one 25 rnd mag from them.  I also ordered two 10 rnd mags army mags from SARCO and a tune up kit "all on sale."  The NHM-91 was just a pickup transfrer from where I bought it on another forum.  Couldn't pass it up for $425.
