I just put my paperwork through for a dedicated 22LR Short Barreled Rifle, to go with the full size, 5.56, SBR build I am doing. Now I of course have the long wait for the paperwork to come back but in the mean time.

Has anyone build a SBR from a dedicated 22 barrel? Can you share your photos and any issues or recommendations? Also I am very interested in what the barrel length is, and then what that equates to in a 5.56 barrel, ie: a Spike's Tactical 16" dedicated 22lr barrel is 16" but it looks like a ~14.5" 5.56 barrel. Also interested where you got your barrels from, if you had to have it cut down, or if it was factory short.

Thanks,

I am currently on the books for a ~8.7" dedicated 22lr barrel in hopes that it will look like a 7.5" 5.56 barrel, as I am building a 7.5" 5.56 SBR at the same time, twins but on different diets.

AR Pistol pictures and info will also work.

Here's my 4.5" SBR.  It took a while to get it running.  I went through several CMMG and Spikes kits before I found a CMMG kit that is very tight, when inserted in the upper/chamber.  It runs 99% w/fed automatch and runs slightly worse w/fed bulk pack.  The extremely short .22lr barrels can be tough to get to run consistently w/out a suppresor...

Spikes fake can and YHM mini rails for reference.  I didnt build it but bought it as the prev owner couldnt get it to run and got frustrated w/it.
