| I have a bushmaster A3 patrolmans carbine. 16" 1/9 twist. I'm wanting to buy a conversion and I know accuracy won't be as good but wich one would You guys recommend. I've read a lot of posts and cmmg and spikes seem common. Price isn't a concern I just want dependability and ease of use. Thanks for Your inputs, Dan |

| I disagree. Having had both I'd go with a conversion. Less money and unless you are looking for precision shooting, the accuracy from the conversion is adequate. Spikes runs cleaner because of the o-rings and nickel plating. Little if any lube required. In a 16" you shouldn't have much tuning to do. |

Spike's and CMMG and now another choice if you'd like to check it out.
http://targetmasterconversion.com/TargetMasterIntro.html I have one of these units for testing, as soon as I can get to the range.. CCS told me he's going to become an Industry Partner here very soon. He'll have more info in that are in the near future. Spec |

love my spike's conversion, 1000 rounds throught it so far. easy to install and easy to clean, just spray it down with brakleen, wipe off, then lube. +1! Just got mine in yesterday and took in to the range today. Heard somewhere here that the kits take around 200-250 rounds for the break-in period so I didn't have to any expectations for the first couple hundred rounds but around 125-50ish I started noticing the hole in the 10 ring getting bigger (I used a seated unsupported position and I got 2"-2 1/2" grouping at 25 yrds). It was a blast to sling 300 rounds down range and not worry about my wallet and still getting decent enough groupings to enjoy the hell out of popping holes in those paper bastards! |
Just bought CMMG stainless steel version from Palmetto Armory for 190.00 shipped with 3 Black Dog mags. The normal kit with 3 mags every where else is going for 250 and they are all out of stock . The stainless kit should be up there with Spike's except the O rings, plus I keep hearing about the tuning you need to do for the Spike's and the CMMG seems to be just drop in and go

CMMG kits tend to come with CMMG mags. |
