I am planning to build a 9mm on my new Spikes Lower. How do I convert UZI mags to go into an AR15 with the mag well adapter for 9mm. I was thinking of going with a Spikes mag well adapter.

Thank You!

Here

I asked the same ? about 5 months ago.

I made a jig to do them and did them on a milling machine and they all turned out perfect.

You could go with the VMHytech block and not have to modify the uzi mags. The mag release will be different from the AR though.

I sent a bunch of mags away to have the notches cut.  All of them came back a disaster - none of them feed reliably!  I don't have access to a milling machine, so let me know if you hear of someone who does this work.

Thanks for all of the replies. I have one more question that may sound stupid, can a converted UZI magazine still be used in an UZI after conversion?

I have to think about all of the above options you guys have presented to me,(and my sons). We are going to do four 9mm builds here and they are all going to be SBRed. We all want our own and the kids just bought 4 new Spikes lowers. We also have a full auto Mini UZI and a full auto MAC 10/9 with an UZI magwell conversion in the family LLC. We have a lot of UZI magazines here for them. Having an AR15 magwell adapter for UZI magazines makes a lot of sense.

Thank You for the input and suggetions!

!

Ummm, yes, they is still Uzi mags, except the tube has a hole in it to allow AR-15/M16 mag catch to grab it...

Problem with extra hole is that it is almost in line with Uzi catch hole, so you may need to release the Uzi lever a 2nd time as the Uzi catch will get caught in the AR-15/M16 slot on the way out of the Uzi magwell if the slot tooo wide,,,, study the pic -

Red is the added slot for AR-15/M16,,,, green is factory Uzi..

I too own Uzi since March 1988, so I went Hy-Tech back in 2003,  free mags here with no added slot -

They can with one small issue as I have learned. You push the Uzi mag release, the mag starts to drop out only to re-catch on the notch cut for the AR application. You push it again and it drops clear.
Annoyance, yes.
Works, yes.
Reason to buy a bunch of un-molested Uzi mags, YES!
