Run the other way and get a Spikes you can thank me later(i except bulk packs of 22 ammo) and won't need to have a 3 foot magazine to have fun. Buy quality, if I can afford it anyone can.

Already have a dedicated upper and a conversion unit.  But was amazed at the price, my upper was about that.

What's the report on how these function?

Mixed reviews so far.  they seem to be accurate.

My only problem is that it doesn't match the functionality of a true AR (fake bolt release for example)

Most people here are very much against them for a few reasons:

1)They are not MADE by Colt.
2)They are imported by an airsoft company (although mfg by Walther)
3)They are made of mostly proprietary parts
4)Quite a few guys have posted about troubles with function (though I think a lot of the guys posting are just regurgitating the bad they've read)

I have one and it's phenominal. I sold my Spike's upper in favor of it since I was going for a dedicated .22 anyway and the Colt was $100 cheaper than the upper alone. I've run just over 1k through it so far w/o cleaning or lube and it's been very accurate (ringing gong at 100yds offhand w/ irons easily). They are easy to tune if you read the manual for 2minutes. They are far from the best but for a dedicated .22 setup I'm happy... if only I can fix this shitty trigger!

+1 to the above.

Mine now runs 100% after a good cleaning and break-in. I run Win/DynaPoints since that's what runs great in my Kuehl-based suppressed M16/22 - in semi-auto, one is just as much fun as the other and the Colt goes to the range when I don't feel like taking $13K+ worth of gun to just run semi.

I even suppressed mine ..............
