Anyone have issues with the Promag 9mm AR15 mags with the Hahn bottom magwell block?

Thinking about a couple of cheap mags to go along with my other's?

Thanks!!!

Don't know about that block but my RRA upper with a RRA magwell runs 100% perfect on the Promags. Some have had issues with them but I can not complain about them.

I just picked up some CProducts mags to give them a try. I think the key is getting the magwell set up just right.

Good luck.

They cause some issues for me. Especially if  fully loaded. But if lightloaded they usually function fine.dedicated hahn block

I had 2 out of 3 CP 32rd mags that wouldn't even begin to fit in my magwell? CP did replace the mags promptly.
Only 1 of the 3 lock the bolt back on an empty mag, all 3 run 100% though. I have 1 Spike's 32rd mag that runs 100% and locks open. I have 2 RRA converted 25rd Uzi mags that run 100%, but won't lock open.

I just thought I'd try a couple cheap Promags?

Take a look at the follower on those 2 CProducts mags that don't lock the bolt open when they're inserted and empty.  I'll bet there's a little overhang from the feedramp on your block that's catching the front edge of your followers.  A little sandpaper should fix that problem.  Spikes' sells Metalform magazines, which have a very different kind of follower with a very different feed angle, so they can't run into the feedramp.  The Uzi mags WILL NOT lock the bolt open because their followers don't have the proper shelf at the back-it's not a problem, it's the way those magazines are designed.  For the record, when they first invented the 9mm AR, Colt based their original magazine on an Uzi magazine, added the shelf on the follower to trip the bolt catch, and contracted with Metalform to produce their OEM magazines.

Honestly, I wouldn't waste the time or money on ProMags.  They aren't all that much cheaper than CP mags.  It pains me to say this, but if I were forced to go with a "cheap", "inexpensive", "low cost", however you want to describe it mag, I would choose the CP mag and deal with the potential shortcomings/issues.

If you're at all handy with a dremel, you may want to consider picking up some cheap Uzi mags and modding them yourself.  It isn't terribly difficult for someone with halfway decent "man skillz".  If you buy them right, they should be about the same price or less than Promags.
