Went to the range today and nearly got through an entire mag w/o a failure (this is very rare) and then this happened.  Anyway, went to Spikes site and the spring set is $20 and the repair kit is $30.  A $50 malfunction...

My question is does anyone know the size of the e-clip and spring?  I have found e-clips for $.24 and springs for $3.00 online but dont know the size/spec/compression stats.

I'm considering ordering another recoil spring guide rod from Ciener for $12.50 and not have to worry about the e-clip again, but it fits a little lose in the rear plate.  Has anyone tried this?

Ciener spring is $5.00 but appears to be a different compression rate.

Have a complete Spikes 22lr rifle and was shooting Federal Bulk.

Wow you guys had be thinking some serious buyers remorse about my TOY Colt M4 22Lr. I was just about ready to kick off the Colt and buys a spikes unit. However, after seeing this I'll stick with my M261 Army 22 Conv. (+2000 plus rounds in the M261 and keep the TOY Colt for now. I guess anything in 22 short of the 10-22 is going to be a problem?

Thanks & Good luck getting you rifle back Shooting

Correct.

Called Monday morning, they said they would ship out the parts this week or next if they had time, guess next week it is.  Less than ideal customer service from my point of view.  I do understand how things are w/ all the mania going on, but it is not all that hard to take few minutes and drop a spring and an e-clip in an envelope.  Maybe I should have just bought the 2 parts kits for $50 and then would have been shooting this weekend.

Doesn't that rather depend how many similar requests are in the pipeline before yours?

Very true, perhaps I'm not being patient enough.  I should have considered that many others are having similar failures on the equipment that they bought as well. Point taken.

That is not the case. We like to give a longer time frame just incase something may come up.

I was refering to this-

Called Monday morning, they said they would ship out the parts this week or next if they had time.

We like to give a longer time frame just incase something may come up.

And this-

I should have considered that many others are having similar failures on the equipment that they bought as well.
