| I am trying to figure out which one to buy. I am set up with dealer pricing at Brownells and they have the Ceiner and the CMMG kits. The Spike is attractive but at $200 a pop I can get a couple of extra mags if I go with the Ceiner or CMMG. Which would you choose and why? Also would the .22LR mags be used regardless of the kit you're running? (for instance, CMMG mags with a Ceiner kit?) Thanks for the advice and suggestions. |

The ceiner, cmmg, and spike's kits are all interchangeable (same design). Jon A Ceiner is an asshole, so I wouldn't buy one of his, and I was at a carbine class where 4 CMMG kits all failed due to poor welds on the endplates. i've seen spikes (ended up buying one) and I think they are the best of the bunch. very good welding on the endplate and no problems.
So, to answer your question, I would spend the extra money on the spikes. YMMV |

If you have a C&R set up a Midway dealer account and get on a waiting list for the Ceiner. With the dealer discount they go for $135 with a 10 rd mag
At one point not to long back Brownells was droping the Ceiner (because of supply issues?) but it was still listed in the website as unavailable The Ceiner has worked fine for me , Spikes and CMMG are the same design but the folks give a shit (which JAC does not ) |

I would spend the extra money on the Spike's! While they all look similar in design, spike's has been improved with the slick nickel finish that requires virtually no oil to function properly & more durable, nicer welds on the rail/end plate. Spike's kit comes with gas block plug (Ceiner & CMMG does not) to keep your gun cleaner from 22lr build up and the firing pin as been improved to last longer. Ceiner & CMMG are identical. Spike's has gone above & beyond to make a more reliable product. I have over 3000 with my kit & still lovin it. |
| I have a CMMG and an issue with the chamber was fixed by CMMG shipping me a replacement part in two days. I have inspected mine closely and have found no other issues including welds. After the great CS I got on the chamber, if I found anything more, I am sure CMMG would take care of it. |

I have had a Ciener for many years and have had no issues in semi or full auto use.
I don't like the Ciener mags and have several BDM mags now. Jonathan can be somewhat abrasive (understatement of the year award for me) but that was all there was if you wanted a full auto kit. I have seen and used a Spikes in semi auto and seen but not used the full auto parts. It is very much like the Ciener with some slight differances. I have no experience with the CMMG kit. If I were starting today, I would get the Spikes. |
