Hey everyone -
My RRA 9mm build is finished... except for the magwell block. I've ordered a Hahn Bottom Loading adapter which should be here tomorrow. I've got several 44Mag Colt style mags that should work, right? So my question is this. I wanted to test the assembly to the best of my ability so I dropped a dummy round into the chamber and cycled the bolt. All looked good, bolt closed, etc. When I pulled the charging handle, the round didn't "eject" like it does on my other (.223) AR's. The bolt just "held" it under the extractor but it didn't eject. Is this a problem or is this something the magwell adapter addresses. My build is as follows: RRA lower RRA 9mm hammer RRA upper RRA 9mm bolt PRI Gas Buster charging handle Spikes tactical barrel CAA stock RRA 9mm buffer Hahn magwell adapter (bottom loading) 44Mag 32 rd Colt-style magazine. The Ejector is fitted to the magblock

Let me know how those mags work with your hahn block when you get it. i'm at the same point in my build waiting on the funds for the mag block and some mags. Will do. According to the descriptions of both (Colt-style mags/Colt-style block) all should be goodness... I'll post up. |

I used the RRA magwell insert and it seems just fine. I like the looks of the Haun but the RRA was available and I figured the rifle upper and lower were RRA so why not?
The RRA has worked fine, no issues. As for ejecting rounds, well this baby puts them in orbit! At the range she will rain them out like a storm pitching them down about two or three tables over, straight out the side. She does not put them over my shoulder like my .223 rifles do. The defector seems to do the job. I am very pleased with the performance of my build. I looked for some time to get the parts but at the last big gun show here in town I got it all on one trip. She works great and all is well! |
