| I haven't taken it to the range yet but I'm having problems cycling the ammo. The ejector doesn't eject the cartridges. Also the follower jams in the magazine a lot. It's a BDM 10 rd. Anyone else have this problem? |

It's blow back operated so hand cycling with not yield the same results as firing.
As for the magazine, check for burrs on the front of the follower. I had a BDM mag with some gouges on the very front of the follower that caused a hang up with 2 rounds left in the mag. I just scraped off the excess with a knife and it hasn't had a problem since. |

Ok that's good to know. I figured that it should hand cycle but wasn't sure. I had heard that some people tweak these conversions so I thought I'd check before taking it to the range. I opened up the mag and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Not sure what the problem is. Thanks for the advice. |

I figured that it should hand cycle but wasn't sure. It SHOULD be able to extract/eject live rounds - otherwise, how would you eject a dud round or clear the gun to make it safe if you needed to? If your kit can't extract live rounds while hand cycling, you may be able to make it do so by modifying the extractor groove in the chamber adapter to allow the extractor to get a bit better purchase on the case rim. Your call if you can/want to do that. Quoted:

Some tweak stuff before shooting it because they have "been there-done that" and know what they are doing. Others tweak stuff before shooting it, because they read on the interwebz that they had to - they may not know why, but they feel they must tweak for some reason.
My 2 cents. Take away from it what you will. Or, ignore it. |

I just used some non copper coated rounds in mine for the first time and the lead seems to cause the round to stick a bit in the chamber. Copper coated rounds would always fall free even if the chamber was dirty.
I was not able to hand cycle those rounds at all, though the copper coated ones would work some of the time. It could be a slight difference in diameter of the bullet but when comparing the two they looked the same size (I have no way to measure accurately). |

Shoot it some more and it'll probably break in on its own, otherwise you may just need to brush out the chamber, or worst case do a little polishing. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=2&f=282&t=173040 |
