Can anyone tell me the difference between the Black Dog Machine magazines that are full size AR type and the bananna type mags ?

I have another post here about troubles with my upper and am wondering if I have a magazine problem, I think it is one of 2-3 different issues I am having. I have posted this question over the past few months on a couple of forums but no replies as to what the differences are.
Thanks,
Rich

I know the feed lips on the old mags were slightly different.

Yes the feed lips look kind of odd, quite THIN but all 3 mags are the same looking. Looks like if they would be very easy to break off. They do not look durable but it seems that they are, I have not heard anyone complain yet.

I had problems with the feedlips on the old mags being too tall and long.

The extracted case will hit the feedlips before the ejector and get tossed up into the action. The case is pinned against the charging handle. You have to reach up through the magwell to pull the bolt back for the case to fall out.

+1

I'd ask over in the Black Dog Machine industry forum.

the newer made Gen 1 (banana) mags have the new mag lips.. I emailed and asked  if the Gen 1 still needed the lips to be tweaked before I bought some a few months ago..
