what kit do you have? also, why do people prefer the federal over the remington? my walmart has the remington for $16 per 550, but they hardly ever have federal.

one more question. would it be a good idea to run a hotter load like CCI's through the gun to break it in, almost like you have to with a semi-auto shotgun?

Remington often works poorly in a several .22 conversions; it is specifically warned against by Model 1 Sales.

+1

Another problem that I've encountered is wanting to get a dedicated 1/16 twist upper too

My only issue with my ciener kit has been with cleaning.

You don't truly realize how dirty .22lr REALLY is until you start continually shooting 500-1000 rounds of .22lr in your beloved AR15's.

I have a spike's kit. Only have like 10 rounds through it, I was having feeding issues. Turns out my bolt was stick and not functioning properly or something, sent it to them, got it back today, so hoepfully sometime soon ill get out to try it out. Looks like its working good, they obviously put a lot of rounds through it, I cleaned it before I left and its dirty, so I can't wait to give it another shot!

Just got my Sig conversion kit yesterday.  Sig does recommend using hotter loads.

Makes sense to me.  The gun was designed for a much higher caliber, and the barrel is massive.

Federal is the only bulk pack that will run my .22 conversion kit reliably...

I have a Ceiner and it likes round nose ammo best.  Pointy stuff. like some of the Blazer and Fed ammo chokes it up.  It also does not care for Aguila SSS, though some other people have good luck with it.

The biggest bitch about it is that loading the mags takes way too long and is nowhere near as fun as unloading them.

Mine CMMG kit did great with the federal bulk pack and the winchester HV bulk pack. I had some match grade federal I shot through it and it was hitting about 4" higher than the other stuff.
