| I was very dissapointed in Spikes customer service when ordering my conversion kit in Dec and never getting a response to emails/calls.Just recieved the kit and despite the service this thing runs great threw both my Bushmasters(ordered another mag ).Would highly recommend the kit but would wish they would be a bit more responsive to questions on thier site not just here.Like I said the kit is top notch , if you want one it is worth the wait |
| Keep in mind, many if not all businesses related to gun and/or AR products are probably experiencing the busiest time in their history. Despite their best efforts, they can't physically keep up with the orders, calls, etc. I too have gotten frustrated when buying things lately but I try and keep this whole ordeal in perspective. |
Same problem with my lower. Ordered Nov.10 They said it would ship Dec.1st. After many unansewered call and different excuses and lies I received it Mon. Jan. 26th It looks and works excellent |

Spike's has been covered up since around May. The demand for ST-22s was off the charts. Just about everything they have offered has been on backorder. Maybe they decided to try and fill orders instead of answering status requests. The first covers payroll, but the second doesn't. It took time (and sometimes a little help from Tom), but they responded to my inquiries. That was before the election.
Lying to customers? Have you noticed the slight increase in all things AR since Tuesday November 4? That was before you ordered. No one has had a steady supply of lowers since then. Your wording is a bit strong. Missed the deadlines they set would be more accurate. If you wanted a stripped lower, it's not like they were laughing at making you wait or something. They got paid when it got shipped. Am I a Spike's fan? Yes. Fanboy? No. It was getting pretty tough waiting for an ST-22 for 13 weeks last summer, especially the last 5 or 6 with ammo and mags on hand. The ESTIMATED backlog was 6 to 8 when I ordered. It was definitely worth the wait. |

I just ordered an upper today. I was a bit reluctant due to the wait, but this is a universal problem with the industry right now, especially since the election. I'm going to be patient and expect it sometime when the weather is warmer and the flowers are blooming. Hopefully, I won't have to wait until the leaves are falling....
I figure if I wait any longer, it might get worse. |

We are trying our best guys, we really are. I answer every single IM or Email through ARFCOM at least 5-6 times a day even on weekends, I answer every question posted to our ads as well as every question posted in our Industry forum. I also take time to help out in the Tech forums at night when I have free time. We have geared up in every way possible. We hired a lot more staff, expanded our building by 50% without shutting down, expanded our equipment by 50%, new phone systems, a better website for our customers, designing new products, at the same time trying to train new help and keep up with Manufacturing everything and more importantly Manufacturing a Quality product. I'm not trying to make any excuses I'm just being 100% honest with you guys.

If you expect all these dealers to drop what they are doing and answer the phone every time it rang, the waits on guns and parts would be 500% greater than it already is. Spikes has been top notch with customer service and performance, Tom has answered every petty question or problem I have thrown at him.
If you are going to be pissed at gun dealers, in the aftermath of Obama, for being busy, you may need to find a new hobby. |

I asked them to price match some BDM mags off other sites since I was buying the kit and was told you would...that's awesome. Guys, everyone has to understand that this is industry-wide. Look at some of most well-respected customer service companies (for example Denny's Guns/GTS)...they have so much to do with little stock and are literally working full days and nights to get things out the door. Eventually (i hope) things settle back down and Spikes will be a better company and ready to ship even more than they did before the panic. |

The rep I spoke to yesterday was very helpful and didn't try to rush anything even though I heard phones ringing in the background. He was forthcoming in answering my questions, including a realistic expection of delays. Everyone seems to agree the product is worth the wait. |

Just call them. I picked up the phone this morning and called Spikes. A nice lady picked up the phone on the 3rd or 4th ring, she walked me through ordering an ST-22 upper, options, etc. Answered all my questions about the barrel, upper, mags, etc. Even matched a lower price on mags for me and indicated my order would be charged to my CC when the order ships in 6-8 weeks.
So far, I have zero complaints, now the wait begins. |

I have to say that after months of watching the forums here and the amount of interaction Tom alone has with his customers, when it came time to order a .22 conversion it was a no brainer. Any company that is this forthcoming with information and that you can see interacting with their customer bast at this level has earned my business.
Also anyone who has been even half awake for the last 3 months knows that the industry has been crushed. If these guys could get the stuff out the door any quicker they would. This is pure $$$$$ that they just can't reach out and grab. I'm positive they want too. Now if we could just get the Zombie Killer lower project going they'd have more of my business. /end shamless plug. |

I don't agree with the premise of your statement that Spike is slow to respond.
They took a week off in December, which was a well known fact and clearly on their website. Maybe you were trying to reach them at that time. Also, they were at Shot Show, and again this was on their website. I had a question regarding the installation of my kit last week, and Spikes answered on the third or fourth ring. They didn't have an answer to my questions, but gave me Tom's email address. He responded to my silly question in less than an hour. The kit ran great in my LMT 14.5" upper, and I think I am going to build a dedicated upper in the near future using part's from Spikes. I don't need anyone holding my hand, telling me when my order will come in. I would rather them spend their time fufilling orders, which Spikes is doing a damn good job of right now. I will buy all of my 22 stuff from Spikes. If i wasn't already stocked up on lowers I would buy some of them also. |

It's not just Spike's, call anyone around and try and get parts. Essential, Rock River, Brownell's, and even Midway are sold out of nearly everything and it's slim pickens when things become available. I was in a similar situation with Spike's and cancelled my order once Brownells had .22 kits available first, no problems getting ahold of Spike's or dealing with them. Blame the new anti-gun admin before you go alienating the entire gun industry for being so heavily demanded right now. |
