This is my first post after 4 years of absence....too much fun shootin I guess!  Anyways I just picked up a conversion kit from Spikes and have been playing with that for the last week and I already want to build a dedicated upper.  I've looked through the old threads and feel confident I can do it.  I am just not sure if the componenets I want will all work.

A 9mm upper (with the short port and brass deflector) mated to a Model1 .22 heavy barrel and my Spikes bolt with the chamber adapter removed.  Add a charging handle, delta ring and some furniture and I should be golden right?  Am I missing anything?

And in the true spirit of arfcomming I'll throw a picture of my AR in for my 1st post back after the extended absence.

DSA ZM4 lower with a stand lpk.  Daniels Defense 12" free float rail around a 16" Bushmaster heavy.  EOTech and MI buis, VLTOR flashlight mount and some TangoDown furniture.  The heavy barrel is the shat.  I'm not in LE or the Service so I don't have to carry it around for extended periods or I might change my mind.  But in rapid fire the heavy barrel really shines.  I havn't had any problems steering it around from target to target either....I eat my wheaties!

Funny, I ordered my M1S with a heavy 16" barrel and 9MM flat top upper with deflector and short dust cover. Works great.
