I have one of these uppers I bought about 2 years ago. I have 5 original 10 round plastic mags, all of which have cracked feed lips. It isn't being imported any more, and the mags aren't available. So, I got 3 of the new Black Dog mags, but I can't get them to run reliably. I've been using CCI Minimag solids, which seems to work well in nearly every other 22 I have.
Any suggestions? |

I used to have one. A Ciener mag can be modified to work. Try searching the archives. IIRC there was at least one thread on the mods, maybe more. You might be able to modify other types of mags, too. It's just a matter of providing clearance for the bolt.
You could probably color the back of a Ciener or other mag with something so you can see where the bolt is contacting the mag and then carefully remove material from the mag with a dremel of file. |

Joe, Considering that all 5 of your CZ 10rd factory mags have cracked feed lips, I'm wondering if your V-22 upper frequently fires out-of-battery? If so, then you likely have a problem with your chamber diameter and/or chamber depth. If this is the case, then even the otherwise excellent CCI Minimags won't feed and cycle reliably when used with the BDM mags. Please get back to me regarding the firing O-O-B situation, then we can go from there. Thanks, Dan |
