Does anyone know of anywhere to possibly get some DPMS .22lr mags? Price really isn't an issue. Brad |
The Colt mags will NOT fit in the DPMS conversion. But the DPMS mags will fit in the Colt conversion. This is due to the fact that the Colt mags have a lug on the top of the mag that fits into a slot cut into the chamber adapter. The DPMS conversion kit does not have this slot cut into it. If you are handy with a Dremal tool you could cut the lug off the top of the Colt mag and then it would fit in either conversion kit. Clik on the link below and you will see the lug I am talking about. My personal opinion on this would be to stand by and get the Black Dog high cap mags that will fit the Colt and DPMS conversion kits when the mags become available. You will have almost 3 times the capacity of the original Colt or DPMS mags and the cost will be about even for either magazine. Here's the link for the thread you were searching for. Clik here |
| There may be more than one generation of Colt conversion mags. All the Colt mags I've seen have a lug or tab on the top of the mag that fits into the chamber adapter on the bottom side of a Colt conversion kit. I never tried to remove this plastic tab but if you could remove the tab the Colt mags would work in the DPMS. Glad to hear you found some mags that will work with your uppers. |

Kevin Rich of BDM said that he expects to be done with the design around the new year. It won't be too long before we get our 30 rounders! Sweet! I just broke out my Colt conversion kit the other day (even have the original packaging still!) and was just wondering today if BDM was going to make mags for it... |

I found some mags that are marked for the Colt conversion. They run fine in my two DPMS dedicated uppers, without modification. marklbucla: Could you please post pics of your Colt conversion mags? I'd really like to see what you've found. Thanks! Dan |

I got first the DPMS/Colt proto mag running today, 32rd. it ran good. We are still planning a release date for Jan1. They always have to plan deer hunting at the end of the year new products rush! Kevin you just made my day. I'd be glad to be a beta tester if you need any. I have two dedicated DPMS 22 uppers (AP 4 & Bull Barrel) plus a colt conversion kit. |

I have a DPMS .22LR 10rd factory mag with the ejector broken off from the feed lip. However, the polymer mag shell is still in very good condition.
Anyone have a DPMS .22LR 10rd factory mag with an intact ejector, but a cracked shell? If so, please e-mail me. Maybe we can work out a deal? Thanks! Dan |

I blew a mag apart when the gun fired out of battery with CCI Stingers. ![]() |
