Been wanting to get into .22LR in an AR platform for a while now and I've collected some OT money at work so it may finally be time.

Been reading for months and I'm still torn... buy a Colt/Air Force/Whatever kit and build it myself, or go with a pre-built ala Spike's or Mod1 or ?????

Any thoughts?  I want to customize it to a degree but most importantly I just want the thing to run.

Thanks.

My vote would go to Spikes. They can build it the way you want it and the customer service is pretty good to boot.

Spikes is the one to go with in my opinion. If you want the best accuracy, get the Lothar Walther upgrade.

Spikes has my vote if you are going totally dedicated 22. Use their ammo recommendations.

Ciener Conversion or CMMG  Both the same type. CMMG (Available Soon) may come with a BDM High Cap Mag (way better choice), has my vote if you want the best of both 22 and .223.... Use atleast 1/9 twist barrel in that case. Federal WalMart Bulk 22's is the inexpensive ammo option That Works. A Spikes .223 Upper would work well for this. Great People.

If you want it to run without tweaking and give great accuracy, there is only one choice: Spikes!

My ST-22 is the best AR money I've ever spent.

Spikes koolaid is pretty good. If you worked hard for your money and want to appreciate your purchases, buy quality over something that you might have to tinker with to get right.

Spikes and BDM is a flavor that will never taste old
