| What happened to Socom mfg? I think I read somewhere that the ATF cracked down on the guy. Anyone know where you can still get their mag blocks? |

SOCOM's (Ernie Wrenn) problems started with his possession of a bunch of imported Maxim kits. As the case progressed, ATF kept piling on charges. Ultimately Ernie was charged with about 16 counts of various stuff by ATF, including allegations that the M-11 RPD conversions and M-249 conversions were machine guns. He was also charged with mail fraud for accepting payments on the conversions. After several weeks of trial, he plead guilty to some of the mail fraud charges, which were felonies. As such, he has had to surrender his manufacturing license. |
