| Got my Oly 22LR conversion kit yesterday and was very surprised that it came with one Black Dog M261 mag. Will try it out later this week. Did notice when putting the kit in my AR that there is a larger than normal gap when I match up the upper and lower receiver. Takes a bit to get the rear pin through the two. This occurred on both the RRA and Colt. Is there a fix for the kit to make the upper and lower match better? I'm thinking a little filing on the lower rear portion of the kit, but don't want to mess with it until I hear from those who might know. Until then I'll just tap the pins in and out. |

I got an Oly .22LR Upper (not the RFA/drop in conversion), and my pins were very difficult to mate to both a Bushmaster lower, and an actual Oly lower. I took a small round file, noted the strike and removed a small bit of material and it fits fine now. Once again evidence of Olympic's 99% finished attitude. I also had to do a little (very little, just a touch) of Dremel work on the feed ramp to get it to start feeding 100% with the BlackDog mags. I literally just touched the Dremel at medium speed, to the base of the ramp to carry the lip down to the edge. Once I did this, I am now able to feed Hollow points and all ammo I've tried without FTF issues what so ever (knocks on wood). I think it's a good unit, and hope you are happy with it. |
